Accounting Clerk II- Immediate Hire

Summit Design and Engineering, one of the fastest growing companies in the Triangle area, is seeking a full-time Accounting Clerk II to work at our headquarters in Hillsborough, NC. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter with attention to detail, extremely accurate and will possess a high degree of analytical skills to assist with construction accounting projects.

Responsibilities:

• Review, code and process accounts payable (AP) invoices.
• Maintain AP system records and coordinate new vendor setup.
• Reconcile corporate credit card statements.
• Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies.
• Prepare and make daily bank deposits.
• Research discrepancies and provide updates on resolutions.
• Communicate and meet with tenants when needed.
• Schedule various building maintenance as required.
• Assist with lease procurement.
• Assist real estate brokers with various administrative tasks.
• Assist with special accounting projects, clerical and other accounting related tasks as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

• High School diploma with a minimum three (3) years of AP experience or Associates degree in business or accounting from a two-year technical college and 1 year of experience
• Proficiency with QuickBooks.
• Detail oriented with analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of standard contract and billing terms and how they are applied in billing (lump sum, time and materials, not to exceed).
• Ability to problem solve and analyze accounting reports.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Construction AP Experience
• North Carolina Lien Law experience
• Knowledge of project structure
• Notary Public
