Summit Design and Engineering Services is seeking an Asset Manager to join our team in our Hillsborough, NC office. The Asset Manager will oversee and manage the company's physical assets across Fleet, Safety, and Facilities. This role is essential in ensuring that all equipment and facilities are properly maintained, safety standards are met, and resources are allocated efficiently. The Asset Manager will supervise a team to support these functions, working closely with departments to streamline operations and ensure that assets support business goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage fleet logistics, including scheduling, tracking, and optimizing vehicle usage to maximize efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain fleet budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness in all fleet operations.
  • Implement and oversee safety protocols, standards, and compliance across the company.
  • Develop and execute training programs to ensure all staff are educated in safety practices.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, reporting findings and implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Manage company facilities, ensuring they are well-maintained, safe, and efficient for staff and operations.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for facility maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Oversee space planning and utilization, ensuring facilities meet the changing needs of the company.
  • Hire, train, and manage a team, providing guidance and support in their daily responsibilities.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and foster a positive work environment.
  • Provide leadership in cross-functional projects and collaborate with other departments as needed.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for Fleet, Safety, and Facilities, tracking expenditures to ensure alignment with financial goals.
  • Generate regular reports on asset performance, including utilization, cost, and condition metrics, to support strategic decision-making.
  • Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to asset management, safety, and facilities to ensure compliance and operational consistency.
  • Stay informed on industry standards and regulatory changes, ensuring all practices meet legal and safety standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in asset management, fleet management, facilities management, or a similar role.
  • Proven experience in managing a team, with strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of safety standards, fleet logistics, and facilities management practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in asset management software, MS Office, and budgeting tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for facility inspections, fleet audits, and meetings.
  • Ability to be on-call for emergencies related to facilities or fleet

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Construction industry.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards, including OSHA.
