The Business Development Manager is vital to the Summit Business Development team by diligently pursuing private business development opportunities. The position is fast-paced and geared towards a candidate who strongly desires to grow in the role and within the company in the business development space. There will be some travel required.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Identify, seek, and develop private-sector business development opportunities and strategies (including strategic teaming partners) for the firm
  • In partnership with marketing, develop messaging and content designed to help further business development efforts in the private/commercial space
  • Develop and maintain a strong professional network
  • Participate in client/strategic organizations
  • Build relationships with clients, teaming partners, and community influencers inside and outside the firm
  • Track business development opportunities via the CRM
  • Schedule and meet with potentials clients/partners to discover pursuit information and details
  • Establish and develop pursuit planning documents
  • Participate in quality control efforts for the business development process
  • Build efficiencies and streamline processes
  • Other duties as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Understanding of basic business development principals
  • Working knowledge of business CRM and databases
  • Knowledge of database concepts
  • Organizational skills and multi-tasking
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in using a computer, Microsoft Office software, and file-sharing programs, particularly on using Microsoft Excel.
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work well with various types of personalities and works styles
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Knowledge of software/technologies for developing client presentations and communications
  • Passion for participating in stakeholder meetings
  • Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
