CEI Transportation Technician Trainee

We are looking for CEI Transportation Technician Trainees for long-term assignment in Wilmington, NC to assist in the inspection of various roadways and/or structure construction operations. All candidates will be enrolled in a structured two-year training program which will be the beginning of a fulfilling professional career. Candidates will learn how to test and inspect concrete, asphalt and soil placement on highway construction projects. This position is hourly with overtime opportunities and is eligible for our bonus program.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the inspection of various roadways and structures construction operations, perform a variety of calculations, testing and computations and prepare reports with supervision.

Skills and Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of mathematics in both algebra, geometry, trigonometry and the ability to apply formulas.
• Proficient in the use of iPad, Microsoft Office and Outlook.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to walk over rough and uneven terrain and be able to stand up to 12 hours a day on occasion.
• Must have the ability to bend, stoop, kneel and twist, use hands to grasp and arms to reach, to raise hands above head, to sit, climb and balance and to work in confined spaces and heights with adequate vision to perform tasks.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, on regular basis
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
• Valid Driver's license with good driving record and ability to drive.
