We are seeking a Coatings Inspection Department Manager. The position is responsible for the management, pursuit of contracts, training, inspection of projects and development for coatings inspection related to field personnel, procedures and practices in multiple states.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Professionally interact with interact with peers, project management, consulting engineers, inspectors, staff and government agencies to ensure a quality product is produced according to specifications and contract budgets are met.
- Initiate, implement, delegate and monitor special projects involving construction methods and processes to improve the quality, productivity and safety of the organization.
- Contribute to and support company's strategic plan, goals and ideas communicating the core values of the company through leadership and example.
- Ensure safety policies, procedures, and applicable OSHA guidelines are properly followed.
- Assist with training employees in proper performance of tasks and use of PPE.
- Provide detailed documentation for all incidents meetings, inspections and training.
- Ensure high quality work is produced in a safe, efficient manner.
- Interact with OSHA on-site as needed, to ensure full compliance.
- Enforce company expectations for all employees in regards to safety, quality, attendance, attitude, effort, employee relations and responsibility for self and others.
- Oversee or assist on complex projects as needed.
- Inspect work as needed to ensure that workmanship conforms to drawings, specifications, company standards, procedures and quality expectations.
- Supervise/manage/direct the selection, recruiting, orientation, training, development, appraisal, and work assignments of personnel.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree from a four-year college or university in construction, engineering, or combination high school diploma/industry training and 10 years technical field/management experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of coatings industry experience of progressive responsibility in a supervisory role.
- Experience with OSHA and other regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Experience with discipline-specific industry standards (API, ASME, AWWA, NACE, SSPC etc.).
- Experience directing, training, and motivating field personnel.
- Knowledge and experience overseeing multiple jobs.
- Experience writing and documenting action plans, status reports and assessments.
- Thorough knowledge of traditional and innovative coating products and application methods with ability to communicate requirements and mentor others in this area.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Will be required to talk, hear and smell as well as use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

- SSPC-QP 1, SSPC-QP 3 and SSPC-Guides 6 & 12
- NACE CIP and NACE NIICAP
Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:
- Valid Driver License
- SSPC/NACE Member
- SSPC PCI or NACE CIP, preferred
- CPR and First Aid Certification preferred
- OSHA 10 Hour preferred
