ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT MANAGER

Summit Design and Engineering Services is seeking an Environmental Project Manager.  The ideal candidate possesses in depth technical, project and client management experience.   We are looking for someone who is a self-starter with demonstrated leadership skills with existing client and regulatory relationships in North Carolina and surrounding states.   This position will be based in our Hillsborough office.

Primary Responsibilities

• Plans, develops scope and budget, and coordinates various projects
• Calculates/reviews costs and time schedules for proposed work
• Manages and assigns duties and schedules to assigned team members
• Oversees and coordinates the technical aspects of projects.
• Checks all technical work for accuracy
• Exceeds client's expectations and fosters client relationships by collaboration and problem solving with the client as needed.
• Communicates with clients to provide project status and updates
• Insures QA/QC procedures are followed
• Assists in review and processing of invoices for assigned projects and sub-consultants
• Prepares proposals and participates in presentations as needed
• Business Development by maintaining existing client relationships and acquiring new contacts/clients through attendance to local meetings, workshops and/or social events

Qualifications:

• 20+ years of experience with environmental project management
• BS in ecology, natural resources, environmental engineering, environmental planning, or related discipline is required.
• Ability to manage and direct staff
• Must possess analytical and problem-solving skills and be capable of independent decision-making
• Proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Must be willing to support a culture of quality and continuous improvement
• Ability to work with time constraints and schedules, and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
