The Funding Specialist is responsible for supporting the acquisition of available local, state, and federal funding opportunities for our clients. The Funding Specialist will work closely with the Municipal Program Manager to identify clients and end-users for available funding. The Funding Specialist will work closely with the technical operations team to identify, scope, and develop funding applications to be submitted for consideration. The Funding Specialist will be responsible to provide input to, help develop, and implement funding strategies for the firm.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Identify, map, and create action plans for local, state, and federal funding opportunities consistent with the scopes of work Summit can deliver
• Work closely with identified clients on funding application efforts
• Liaise with technical operations staff on funding application requirements
• Provide support to Planning Department grant administration and management efforts
• Develop and implement funding strategies, policies, and procedures for continuous improvement

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Good written and verbal communications skills.
• Experience with applications for local, state, and/or federal funding opportunities
• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Economics, or a similar field.
• Capable of exercising physical capacity commensurate with the demands of the position.
• Proficient in using a computer, Microsoft Office software, and file sharing programs, with a particular emphasis on the use of Microsoft Excel.
• Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
