Summit Design and Engineering Services is seeking a highly motivated Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our HR team. The HR Assistant will perform an extensive array of duties to enable the HR team to meet its deadlines and objectives. For the right candidate, will have some flexibility to work remotely on occasion.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with onboarding new hires including submitting online background and driving record checks, preparing new employee files, preparing, and processing all new hire documents through HRIS, coordinating and participating in orientation.
  • Maintain HR files and various SharePoint/databases
  • Respond promptly to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Track referral bonuses for new hires.
  • Respond to verifications of employment and requests for information from other agencies.
  • Reconcile monthly invoices, code to proper department, and submit for payment.
  • Manage services awards, birthday recognitions, student loan reimbursements and wellness stipends.
  • Assist with registration and preparation for career fairs and other recruiting events.
  • Assist HR team with wellness program and rewards and recognition programs.
  • Assist HR team with government/regulatory compliance and reporting.
  • Maintain excellent internal and external customer service, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Assist with other HR projects, administrative tasks and company events as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma with 3+ years of HR experience or a two-year degree with 1+ year of HR experience
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Strong initiative and ability to prioritize workload
  • Excellent written, and verbal communication skills
  • Customer service orientated
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds on occasion.
