We are seeking a problem-solver with a technical background to perform land design and modeling of infrastructure and natural systems. The Landscape Designer will work in our Landscape Architecture Department and will be responsible for drafting, specification writing, and technical research related to landscape design. The Landscape Designer will work collaboratively with more experienced Landscape Architecture staff, our Civil Engineering Department staff, and our Land Planners on projects involving landscape architecture, site analysis, master planning, land development, campus design, park/greenway design, roof gardens, urban streetscape and plaza design, and land planning. The successful candidate must be able to meet deadlines while maintaining quality control. This position may be based in either our Raleigh or Hillsborough office.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or Civil Engineering, or related technical certificate/degree and landscape architecture design/land development experience
• Knowledge of Landscape Architecture/Civil Engineering design techniques and principles
• Knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D and associated design software, including use of Sketchup or other software
• Knowledge of various 'office' computer programs including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, etc.
• Proficient implementation of design graphics using hand sketches and rendering
• Valid Driver's license with a good driving record and ability to drive
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Basic knowledge of grading, drainage, and planting plans (knowledge of regional Flora is a plus)
• Basic understanding of a variety of technical instruction
• Ability to read and interpret technical information
• Ability to assist with preparation of presentations
• Ability to work independently as well as on a team
