Municipal Project Manager

Summit Design and Engineering Services is seeking an experienced Project Manager to assist our team with securing, managing and delivering municipal projects. The position will be based in our Raleigh office. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and have excellent leadership, project management and business development abilities.

Primary Responsibilities:  

• Secure municipal design, inspection and testing work by developing and cultivating relationships with North Carolina municipalities
• Expand business with new and existing municipal clients for all service lines
• Assist in writing proposals in response to RFQs
• Assist in fee proposal preparation
• Maximize On-Call contract task order awards
• Plan and coordinate design engineers, field engineers and architects working on specific projects
• Oversee project development and construction to ensure project completion as efficiently and effectively as possible in accordance with client expectations
• Evaluate and manage changes that substantially impact the scope, budget or schedule of a project
• Monitor progress and performance of project
• Develop municipal sales goals and plans to achieve those goals 

Qualifications: 

• BS in Engineering from an ABET accredited school or equivalent
• PE licensure
• 10+ years of experience in Project Management and business development
• Experience with municipal engineering a plus
• Understanding of municipal government procurement processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed
