SENIOR PROJECT TECHNICIAN

Summit is seeking a Senior Project Technician who will be responsible for contract administration and quality assurance of various types of construction projects. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, engineers, contractors and other consultants to ensure project success. You must have the credentials and ability to manage and perform both field and administrative tasks.

Additional job duties include implementing/performing quality assurance procedures, preparing and submitting estimates, checking engineering calculations, reviewing pay applications, preparing and reviewing change orders, interpreting contract documents, planning and organizing the work of subordinate and staff members while continually developing and reviewing policies, practices, methods and procedures of a professional work environment.  Will maintain and develop key relationship with all clients by ensuring excellent service and meeting their needs

Qualification:

• Two year degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Comprehensive knowledge of NCDOT policies and procedures and contract administration
• Prefer 5-8 year prior work experience or similar work experience with Construction QC/QA and Administration
• Prior management or supervisory experience preferred
• Professional presentation skills and above average verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Certified in QA/QC field testing.

Candidates will be subject to outside environmental conditions, including hazards at highway construction sites.  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.  Must be able to walk over rough and uneven terrain and be able to stand up to 12 hours a day on occasion.  Must have the ability to bend, stoop, kneel and twist, use hands to grasp and arms to reach, to raise hands above head, to sit, climb and balance and to work in confined spaces and heights. 

Must have valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.   Criminal background check will be performed.
