Senior Project Controls Specialist

Due to considerable growth in land development opportunities, Summit Design and Engineering Services, PLLC is seeking a full-time Senior Project Controls Specialist for our Hillsborough office. Position responsibilities include individual project and portfolio scheduling, change documentation and cost control. Applicants are expected to have the ability to work independently, and help develop portfolio strategies for optimizing resources. Candidates are expected to be competent in use of proven project controls principles and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:  

• Collaborate effectively with individuals and organizations within and outside our team.
• Work collaboratively with department managers and project staff to:
• develop, manage, and report on project and portfolio schedules using earned value and critical path methodologies.
• develop, manage, and report on project and portfolio cost controls using earned value methodology
• Assist department managers and project staff with change control and documentation.
• Develop templates and cadence for project and portfolio reporting.
• Develop project and portfolio performance database to assist in estimating and budgeting efforts.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years of project controls experience in engineering and construction projects
• Proficiency in earned value methodology and management
• Advanced proficiency in MS Project and Primavera P6
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS in engineering, construction management, or related field
• PMP certification in good standing
• 10 years of project controls experience in design/build projects
• Advanced proficiency in MS Project and Primavera P6 EPPM
• Proficiency in Power BI or similar database management software
