Senior Proposal Manager

The Senior Proposal Manager is primarily responsible for managing a team of proposal writers and writing proposals in support of Summit's goals, strategic initiatives, and service offerings. This position will work with executive leadership, marketing team, and operations management and will manage the entire proposal process. The Proposal Manager is a key contributor to growth in all our practices and geographies as successful proposal development and submission are the first steps in our growth process. Duties are performed within a team environment with a focus on quality and excellence.  The preferred office location is Hillsborough but this position can work out of any Summit Office locations.

Responsibilities:

• Manages proposal resources, including writing past performance, resumes, editing, ensuring compliance, resolving issues, coordinating key stakeholders, and analyzing solicitations.
• Leads and participates in collaborative sessions to define and refine win strategy and competitive assessments.
• Ensures development and distribution of appropriate proposal-related documentation, including compliance matrices and style guidelines, proposal schedules, writing guidance, and kick-off presentations.
• Establishes and maintains communications among proposal team, including subcontractors, using collaborative tools such as SharePoint, Zoom and Team as needed.
• Authors appropriate proposal sections and help design graphic concepts.
• Works with others in the design of the technical solutions for the proposals; contributing as a "thought leader" for the team.
• Reviews proposal content for compliance and cohesiveness.
• Provides proposal training to internal proposal contributors.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, or related fields.
• A minimum of seven years of experience working with proposals in the A/E/C industry with progressively higher levels of responsibility.
• Must work well under pressure and able to meet deadlines.
• Strong business acumen, with willingness and ability to learn additional skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage several projects simultaneously.
• Ability to be hands-on as well as strategic.
• Positive attitude and works well with others.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to make the complex simple.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of management.
• Experience with SharePoint and Adobe Suite.
• Exceptional skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
