Survey CAD Technician

Summit Design and Engineering is seeking a highly motivated Survey CAD Technician to work in our Survey Department. This position offers the possibility of hybrid/remote working arrangement.

Responsibilities:

• Perform desk research to obtain land records, GIS data, and any other types of information needed for survey projects
• Prepare survey exhibits, maps, and drawings/plat
• Process field survey data in conjunction with GIS data and land records data
• Perform survey computations and adjustments
• Handle project communications.

Skills and Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three years of relevant experience or an Associate's degree with a minimum of one year of relevant experience
• Six months of experience using AutoDesk AutoCAD and/or AutoDesk Civil 3D
• Ability to process and draft field survey data and land records data
• Understanding of surveying laws and state standards for boundary analysis and computations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Familiarity with GIS principles and GIS software, Google Earth.
• Good communication skills
• Field surveying experience is highly desirable but not required
