Survey Project Coordinator

Summit Design and Engineering is looking for an experienced Survey Project Coordinator to join our Survey team. The position is primarily office-based with occasional field survey work. This position offers the possibility of hybrid/remote working arrangements.

Responsibilities:

• Perform research to obtain land records, GIS data, and any other types of information needed for survey projects
• Prepare survey exhibits, maps, and drawings/plats
• Prepare project reports
• Process field survey data in conjunction with GIS data and land records data
• Perform survey computations and adjustments
• Perform stakeout calculations for construction and roadway projects
• Prepare field survey tasks and instructions.
• Organize and maintain project records.
• Handle project communications
• Coordinate field and office project activities

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Geomatics/Land Surveying/Civil Engineering Technology or three years of field/office experience in surveying
• One year of experience using AutoDesk AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D
• Experience processing field survey data and surveying computations
• Experience using Adobe Acrobat Pro and/or BlueBeam Revu
• Basic knowledge of GIS systems and technology
• Experience with boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title surveys, topographic surveys, utility surveys, route surveys, GNSS surveys, and construction staking
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Excellent communication skills
• Valid Driver's license with good driving record and ability to drive
• Must be able to walk over rough and uneven terrain and be able to stand up to 12 hours a day on occasion.
• Must have the ability to bend, stoop, kneel and twist, use hands to grasp and arms to reach, to raise hands above head, to sit, climb and balance and to work in confined spaces and heights with adequate vision to perform tasks.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, on a regular basis
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Surveyor in Training, Certified Surveying Technician, or other similar certifications
• Experience with Bentley MicroStation
• Experience with Esri ArcMap and/or ArcGIS Pro
