Talent Management Specialist

Summit Design and Engineering Services is seeking an energetic, outgoing Talent Management Specialist to join our HR team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of human resources experience. The preferred office location is Hillsborough or Raleigh, NC but this position can work out of any Summit office location. Some remote work is also an option.

  • Work collaboratively with managers to develop job descriptions and postings for open positions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with college placement offices, alumni offices and college engineering and architecture departments. Post jobs, attend career fairs and assists in preparation of display boards and handouts.
  • Support sourcing and recruiting efforts for current and anticipated hiring needs.
  • Evaluate and review potential candidates including reviewing resumes/applications, conducting screening interviews and recommending final candidates to the hiring manager.
  • Manage the scheduling and logistics of virtual and onsite interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Assist hiring managers as needed to prepare for interviews.
  • Perform reference checking and other employment verifications.
  • Partner and collaborate with others to develop and implement creative and innovative sourcing strategies and techniques to build a pipeline of diverse, qualified candidates.
  • Coordinate internal and external learning and development programs.
  • Manage the company's Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Partner and collaborate with others to develop and implement professional development, career paths, workforce diversity, and retention strategies.
  • Assist with employee engagement events or activities.
  • Manage the Apprenticeship and Internship programs.
  • Obtain and track feedback by following-up with new hires and performing exit and stay interviews.
  • Assist with other HR initiatives as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Communication, or related field of study.
  • A minimum three years of human resources experience with some recruiting experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and work on multiple projects to meet deadlines.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
  • Results oriented, self-motivated, and creative.
  • Experience with an applicant tracking system, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other job boards.
  • Competency with PC software tools including the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to research, evaluate and recommend learning and development options and initiatives.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds on occasion.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record and ability to travel as needed.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience seeking passive and active candidates through LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor or other social media sites.
  • Experience with learning and development programs.
  • Experience working within the Civil Engineering, Architecture or Construction industry
