Transportation Design Manager

Summit Design and Engineering Services is seeking a qualified individual to lead and assist in the development of transportation design projects and plans.

Responsibilities:

The position will work within the Civil Engineering Department in North Carolina. Projects will involve roadway/highway design, transportation management, municipal streets, and pedestrian facilities (greenways, multi-use trails). Thorough knowledge of NCDOT design standards and practices and experience in project development work flow are required. This position will also require management and training of support staff. The Roadway Project Engineering will also be required to regularly interact with clients and public agencies and participate in public meetings and presentations.

Skills and Qualifications:

• BSCE or BSCET degree with a minimum of 10 years of progressive design experience in all aspects of transportation design; or equivalent level of experience
• PE license is required
• Advance knowledge of and experience with Microstation, Geopack, Corridor Modeling and Open Roads are required
• NCDOT design experience is preferred
• Survey experience and data management is beneficial
• Strong engineering analysis and judgment
• Experience in managing and organizing multiple tasks and related disciplines
• Proactive and self-motivated attitude
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
